چکیده

Tannins have been used to trigger positive effects on ruminal metabolism and increase ruminant production efficiency, since they the supply of dietary protein in small intestine. Increasing levels tannic acid a sorghum-based diet feeding behavior five Holstein/Zebu crossbred lactating dairy cows was evaluated. They were subjected 5 × Latin square experimental design, with fivelevels tannin as dry matter (DM) (0.46, 1.30, 2.60, 3.90, 5.20%). The added established based quantity condensed high-tannin sorghum. Thus, diets 2, 3, 4 supplemented 1.5 g (13% DM), 79.5 (2.6% 157.5 (3.9% 235.5 (5.2% DM) acid, totaling 0.078, 0.156, 0.234, 0.321 kg tannin/day, respectively. Feeding variables included following states events: feeding, drinking, rumination, inactivity; frequency visiting feed water troughs; occurrence urination defecation. Water provided ad libitum, its intake measured during periods behavioral data collection. use two sources (hydrolysable condensed) corresponding total level 5.20% (on DM basis) cattle does not affect animals’ health. Tannic can be at 3.93% without inducing variation time spent daily intake. Dairy dilute (5.20%) through greater fragmentation food consumption hours (180 min). astringent caused by are mitigated increasing amount increases, starting 3.90% basis).

Utilization of distillers grains from the fermentation of sorghum or corn in diets for finishing beef and lactating dairy cattle.

Beef finishing and dairy lactation experiments were conducted to evaluate the nutritional value of distillers grains (DG) from sorghum or corn fermentation, in both wet (35.4% DM) and dry (92.2% DM) form (dairy trial only). In the finishing experiment, 60 yearling steers were used in a completely randomized design with three diets that were fed for 127 d: 1) control diet with 86% (DM basis) dry...

Effect of different levels of monensin in diets containing whole cottonseed on milk production and composition of lactating dairy cows

The objective of this study was to determine the effects of feeding different levels of monensin on feed intake, milk production and composition, and milk fattyacid profile in lactating Holstein cows. Four multiparous cows averaging 517 ± 47 (SD) kg in body weight and 101 ± 19.8 (SD) days in milk were housed individually in tie-stalls. The study was conducted as a 4 × 4 Latin square design for ...
